We thought it useful to share where things stand for the top male and female cyclists from the African continent (based on their Africa Tour and UCI points.) We have added a few extra names to both lists beyond these rankings for riders we believe deserve to be mentioned in this table.
There are now a very good number of African riders on World Tour, Pro Continental and Continental teams for 2025, with only one of the top 10 male African riders not confirmed on a pro teams (#3 Alexandre Mayer has a new team but not announced yet. So far no confirmed ride for World Tour rider Stefan de Bod.
This is where things stand currently (UPDATED: 11 December 2024) and we will update with any ‘breaking news’ as it happens (we have the same policy as our partner ProCyclingStats, we will only publish definite deals shared by teams or riders, no unconfirmed rumours):
