Exciting new 'first' for Team Rwanda as Joseph Areurya and Samuel Mugisha make Rwanda's debut in the world famous Giro d'Italia U23 this week.

These two young athletes have been nurtured by our head coach Sterling Magnell and hit the international stage in 2016 as part of our historic UK Tour where they took part in the UK's Motorpoint national series as well as an invitation into the Ride London Classic (a UCI 1.HC race) against the world's best riders, including Chris Froome! Joseph then went on to have a strong performance at the World Championships also.

Their performance in the Tour du Rwanda, with Joseph coming 4th overall and Samuel winning the King of the Mountains jersey, sealed the deal and they were signed for the Team Dimension Data U23 Continental squad, the feeder for their World Tour team which includes Rwanda's highest performing cyclist Adrien Niyonshuti.
